Obituary for Antonio Correia

Passed peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on October 26, 2007 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of 50 years to Aurelia of Port Colborne. Loving and devoted father of Marie-Anne Romano and her husband Domenic, Michel Correia and his wife Toni and Denis Correia and his wife Windy. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ashley, Melanie, James, Matthew and Jessica. Predeceased by his parents Mateus and Elisa Correia. Antonio immigrated to Canada in 1953 from Madeira, Portugal. He resided in Port Colborne for 50 years, where he worked at Maple Leaf Mills. After 27 years of service, he retired in 1974 to enjoy many years of retirement. Antonio was a member of the Le Centre polyvalent des aînés francophones de Port Colborne and was an avid pigeon flyer for over 45 years. The family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 29, 2007 at St. Jean de Brebeuf R.C. Church at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
