Obituary for William Wallace Jackson

Mr. William Wallace Jackson of Ashford died Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 55.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Jackson was born October 16, 1953 in Donalsonville, Georgia, the son of the late J.B. Jackson and Mary Katherine Chambliss Jackson. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Jackson was a life long farmer who enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing (and hunting). He loved studying history and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JB and Katherine Jackson (of Ashford); sisters, Barbara Annette Jackson of Ashford; Hazel Woodham of Midland City; (Kathy Sue Jackson, spouse of 25 years).

Survivors include: wife, Debra Kay Jackson of Ashford; daughter, Amanda Livingston and her husband, Jamie of Ashford; step-daughter, Hannah Mendoza of Atlanta; sons, Jacob Jackson of Dothan; Tray Jackson and his wife, Tracy of Dothan; Cody Jackson of Ashford; Brent Jackson of Ashford; step-sons, Larry Gray of Lancaster, S.C.; Shawn Cherry of Ashford; sisters, Joyce Ingram and her husband, Eddie of Ashford; Helen Beckon and her husband, Ronnie of Cussetta, Al; Janice Robinson and her husband, Jimmy of Columbia, Al; Peggy Dehne and her husband, Gene of Columbia, Al; brothers, Dwight Jackson and his wife, Angie of Ashford; Buddy Jackson and his wife, Brunise of Midland City; James (Jim) Hubert Jackson of Dothan; grandchildren, Nathan Nickolas, Stephanie Nicole, Tray Edward, Payton Conner, Breeanah, Kelsey Sue, Guy Ethan, Emily Katherine, several nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, Huey Crooms, Mr. & Mrs. Homer Jr. Aman, mother & father-in-law, Bill & Sarah Womack, sister-in-law, Gracie Davis.

Active pallbearers will be: Casey Jackson, Wil Fowler, Mickey Ingram, Jeremy Ingram, Huey Crooms, and Brad Gashsw.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Bo, Jason, and Shane.
