Obituary for Eleanor Deglow

Eleanor Deglow, age 92, a life-long resident of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation for Eleanor will be at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. John Schreiter will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Eleanor was born on February 23, 1917 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1934 and worked at Weyenberg Shoe Company for 10 years. On January 4, 1945, Eleanor was united in marriage with Milo “Mike” Deglow in Beaver Dam. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1995. Eleanor worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a ward clerk for 25 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam where she had been active with the Christian Women. She was also a past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen “Trixie” Schram of Beaver Dam and Cheryl “Cheri” Seufzer of Baraboo, and a granddaughter, Brittany Seufzer of Baraboo, her sister-in-law, Marian Burchardt, nieces, nephews and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, John, Edward, Norbert and Alex Burchardt, and two sisters, Elsie Mack and Ruth Mallon.
