WATERBURY- Mrs. Kathleen O. Trota, age 75, of East Main St Waterbury, died Tuesday at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness.

Kathleen was born October 15, 1933, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Francis E and Margaret (McIroy) O’Connor. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She remained in the healthcare practice until just last year, working at Oakcliff Convalescent Home and other area nursing homes. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and watching old movies. She was a parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Church.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Julynn Trota of Waterbury, a brother Robert J. O’Connor of Prospect and two sisters, Eleanor O’Connor of Cheshire and Rosemary Lawlor of Waterbury with whom she made her home. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Dianne Trota of Northfield and 7 grandchildren including Joshua, Danielle L. and Karly C. Trota as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her son, Jeff Trota, a brother Francis E. O’Connor and her three sisters Marguerite O. Klein, Elizabeth Lesnikoski, and Eileen Murphy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Trota will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 9:00 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
