Obituary for Donald Bruce Stratton

Stratton, D. 70, of Dimondale, died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at his home. Mr. Stratton was born September 21, 1934, in Lansing, MI, the son of Robert and Christine (Dewar) Stratton. He owned Stratton Sports Cars and was formerly active in auto racing through the Sports Car Club of America. He was a real estate broker and built condominium projects in the Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Harbor Springs areas, as the Chairman of Continental Acquisitions in the 1970's. He was also a board member of the National Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and a Docent at the Michigan History Museum. Bruce spent his spare time flying and exploring the islands of Lake Michigan. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Charlyn (Levernier); daughters Christine (James) Rowe of Nome, AK, Lauren Noble of Midland, NC, Kellyn (John) Sliwinski of Anchorage, AK; sons Matthew (Lisa) Stratton of Dimondale, Stephen (Mary Ann) Strattonof Livonia, Andrew (Jenne) Strattonof Acworth, GA, and Nathan (Nora) Strattonof Sausalito, CA; also 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Cheri and Jimi Youngblood. Memorial services will be on Saturday September 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale, 162 N. Bridge St. Dimondale. Interment will be in the Ohioville Cemetery, Burt Lake, MI. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Burt Lake Christian Church, Burt Lake, MI 49717.
