Jimmie P. McKinney

Jimmie P. McKinney, 75, of 74 Orb Taylor Rd, Marion, KY, in Crittenden County, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008 at his home.
Jimmie was a lifetime member and deacon of the Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church, Hwy 723, in Crittenden County, Salem, KY. He was a choir leader and Sunday school teacher at the church for more than 50 years. He was also a church trustee and head of the Cemetery Committee. He was a long-time member of the Operators and Engineers Union Local 181.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife Dorothy (Champion) McKinney; his daughter, Cindy, and his son Stephen; his granddaughter Lauren, his grandson, Cole, and daughter-in-law Stacey, all of Marion, Ky. Four brothers: Doug of Joy, KY., Gary and Larry, both of Marion, KY and Donnie of Henderson, KY; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pauline (Croft) McKinney of Crittenden County.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem with Rev. Herbert Alexander, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the funeral home.
