Joy McCallie Tallent age 58 of Winchester, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2014. On January 7, 1956 in Franklin County, Tennessee, Joy McCallie was born to Mrs. Alberta Clark McCallie and the late Jackie McCallie. She is a 1974 class graduate of Franklin County High School. After high school she went to school to be a master barber where she worked in Georgia for many years. In 2010 she retired and moved back to Franklin County to be near her family. She was a faithful member of the Decherd First Baptist Church. Ms. Tallent is preceded in death by her father, Jackie L. McCallie and uncle, Roddy McCallie. She is survived by her mother, Alberta McCallie of Winchester; sister, Martha McCallie of Chattanooga; brothers, Daniel (Tammy) McCallie of Chattanooga, Richard (Karen) McCallie of Winchester; uncle, Teddy (Linda) McCallie Sr.; her four legged companion of 15 years, Mattie and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11am from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens in Rossville, GA at 3pm EST on January 13, 2014 with Teddy McCallie Jr, Scott Brinkley, Jay Stricklin, Craig McCallie, Cody Hoosier and Danny Hartman all serving as pallbearers.
