Obituary for Doris Odessa Jones

Doris Odessa Jones
Doris Jones, 91, of College Station, passed away on December 19 at the College Station Medical Center. She and her husband have requested no public service at this time.

Doris was born to Sebe and Odeal Robinson DeBose in Navasota, Texas. After graduating from high school she attended college to become a License Vocation Nurse. She participated in the Leadership Dynamics programs at both Monroe Community College and Washnaw Community College in Michigan. She spent thirty years as a nurse caring for her patients. Doris retired from Prairie View A&M as a clerk in the Office of the Registrar. She loved her students and seeing them pursue their degrees and careers brought joy to her heart. Doris was self-employed cleaning homes for families she knew. When she moved to Texas she was the owner and operator of Green Acres Lodge in Hempstead, Texas; affordable, clean and nice lodging, a great place to consider home away from home. Doris and her husband raised their children in a loving Christian home. She was Baptist in faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sebe and Odeal DeBose; her aunts and uncles.

Surviving her are her husband of 53 years, Earl Warren Jones; her son John Earl Jones; and her daughter Jacqueline Anne Taylor and husband James; by her niece Lois Faye Jenkins.
