Funeral service will be held for Mr. Robert David Monzingo, 63, of Nacogdoches on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Sonny Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Monzingo passed away on December 9, 2013 in Arlington, Texas. Robert was born on January 13, 1950, in Camanche, Texas to Bro. Roy Monzingo and Mildred Monzingo.
Robert grew up in Nacogdoches where he attended and graduated from Nacogdoches High school in 1968, he went on to attend college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physiology. He married his love and friend, Mildred Sharon Monzingo, on November 27, 1996, in Las Vegas, NV. He was a gun collector, a huge baseball fan of the Texas Rangers and a member of the Masonic Lodge #438 of Arlington, Texas. Robert was a professional musician, loved to play his guitar. He also enjoyed having cook outs with his loving family. Robert was a big historian, he knew all there was to know about Texas and its history. Robert was very well known and very well loved by all who knew him. He will be missed.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Monzingo; son, Michael Monzingo and wife, Nicole; step-sons, Maury Taylor and wife, Angie, Richard Allen Taylor and wife, Michelle and Kelly Taylor; daughters, Michelle Monzingo and husband Ryan Akins, and Angela Monzingo; grandchildren, Jordan, Macie, Mackenzie, Kimberly, Heaven, Leah, Corey, Michael, Ellie, Chandler, Zoey, James, Andy and Alice.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 5-7PM at Laird Funeral Home.
