Fr. Maryon Christi Jordan, O.S.B.

Father Maryon Christi Jordan, O.S.B., of Minooka, IL died Monday, December 2, 2013 at 6:30 a.m. at the Hines VA Hospital in Chicago, IL. Born in Bangor, MA December 17, 1952, he was adopted by the late Raymond and Daisy (Barlow) Jordan.

Surviving are his brother, Donald Ray Jordan; his sister, Brenda Diane Ladet; and his Benedictine Brothers of the Swiss American Congregation of the Order of St. Benedict.

Father Jordan professed his monastic vows on January 15, 1979 at Corpus Christi Monastery, Sandia, TX, and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on June 4, 1983. In 1989, he joined the United States Air Force as a Chaplain which included service in the Persian Gulf War. He also served in the La Crosse, Wisconsin Diocese under Raymond Cardinal Burke, and as chaplain under U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at Wade Park Campus in Cleveland, OH before coming to the Chaplain's Residence at Annunciation Monastery, 6200 E. Minooka Road, Minooka, IL.

Funeral Services for Father Maryon Jordan, OSB will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Annunciation Monastery, 6200 E. Minooka Road, Minooka, IL where a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Abbot Vincent Bataille, O.S.B. will preside. Interment will be in Annunciation Monastery Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Annunciation Monastery would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday morning 8:00-10:45 a.m. at the Monastery. Fred C.
