Mary L. DeChellis, of Monaca, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born in Pratola Peligna, Italy, a daughter of the late John and Frances Carducci, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, and the Christian Mothers of the church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was also a wonderful cook and loved to bake for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fiore DeChellis, on Nov. 1, 1991; a brother, Gino Carducci; two sisters, Assunta and Emilia, and a son-in-law, Henry 'Bing' Binkoski.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Shirley DeChellis, Monaca, and John and Shirley DeChellis, Rochester; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rita Binkoski, Carpentersville, Ill.; Mary Jane and Robert Matich, Aliquippa, and Louise and Timothy McKim, South Beaver Township; 13 grandchildren, Mark and his wife Wendy DeChellis, Englewood, Ohio; Shari and her husband Pat Pauvlinch, Center Township; Mike and his wife Amy DeChellis, Chippewa Township; Gary and his wife Cathy Binkoski, Blacklick, Ohio; Kristi and her husband Rob Wise, Dawn and her husband Mark Kurceja, all in Illinois; Bobby Matich, Center Township and his fiance Michele Semovoski, Aliquippa; Jeffrey and his wife Sherry Matich, Aliquippa; Melissa 'Missy' and her husband Marvin Leonard, Enon Valley; Jon-Paul and his wife Karen DeChellis, Hopewell Township; Christopher McKim, Los Angeles, Calif.; Justin and his wife Chantelle McKim, Winterpark, Fla., and Ashley McKim, South Beaver Township; 14 great-grandchildren, Anthony and Chelsey DeChellis, Carli Pauvlinch, Julianna and Leah DeChellis, Christina and Nicole Binkoski, Olivia and Mia Wise, Demi Matich, Antonio, Gianna and Natalia DeChellis, and Izabella McKim; a sister-in-law, June Carducci, in Illinois, and several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Friends will be received today from 1 to 5 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-775-0926), where a service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. The Rev. Father John McKenna will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.

Mrs. DeChellis’s grandson, Robert P. Matich, Funeral Director, of the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
