Obituary for Edythe Russell (Scott)

Funeral services for Mrs. Edythe Scott Russell, 88 of Winnsboro, LA, will be held on November 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be on November 5, 2013 from 5:00-8:00, at Young’s community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Interment will be located in Providence Cemetery. With Bro Larry Russell and Bro. Clay Russell officiating. Under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home.
Edythe was born in Winnsboro, LA, on February 10 1925 to Jabe and Clara Scott. In 1944 she married Julian Russell of Winnsboro. The lived in Atlanta GA, and Pensacola, FL, while he was serving in the Navy during World War II.
In the year of 49’, Julian and Edythe built their house on Hwy 4. They raised their three children in that house, and have lived there all of their 69 years.
Edythe was known for her homemaking skills and quick wit. She loved to cook and could produce a huge smorgasbord of great dishes all while “cracking up” her kids and grandkids!
Mama “aka” Mimi and Aunt E prayed daily for her family. She suffered a lot of physical pain, through the years and spoke often of looking forward to her Heavenly Home! She was our Role Model, our rock and our HILARIOUS Loved One! We will miss her madly!
Edythe was preceded in death by; her parents Jabe and Clara Scott; three brothers, Adrian Scott, Jesse Scott, and George Scott; and two great granddaughters Faith and Hope Lewis.
Edythe was survived by her husband Julian Russell; two daughters Rhonda Shirley and husband Jim of Ridgeland Mississippi, and Ginger Robinson and husband Richard of Fort Worth Texas; one son Kyle Russell and wife Susan of Winnsboro LA.; six grand children Rodney Lewis, Leah Lewis, Jana MacKay, Jabe Robinson, Josh Russell, and Holly Russell; nine great grandchildren; a special cousin Ruth Eppinette; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
