Obituary for Donald Lynn Chastain

Donald Lynn  Chastain
Mr. Donald Lynn Chastain, age 60, of 423 Wilshire Road, Rome, passed away, Thursday, October 3, 2013 in a local hospital.

He was born in Columbia, SC on August 7, 1953, son of Geraldine Stokes Chastain and the late James H. Chastain. He was a graduate of the Cedartown High School. He was also a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and was a Georgia Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He was formerly associated with Henderson & Sons Funeral Home and prior to ill health, he was associated with West Georgia Crematory. He was a member of the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Cedartown.

Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Corbitt, to whom he was married on January 11, 2011; a daughter, Ashley Chastain, Cedartown; a son, Anthony Chastain, Atlanta; his mother, Geraldine Chastain, Rome; a step-son, Dustin Corbitt, Rome; 4 grandchildren; aunts, uncles, and several cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 2:30pm at the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Cedartown with Dr. Kenneth McClary and Dr. Anthony Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Mr. Chastain will be taken to the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church on Sunday to lie in state from 1:30pm until time for the service. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church on Sunday at 2pm and are as follows: Active: Dustin Corbitt, Ryan Baldwin, Michael Baldwin, Stanley Lemacks, and Reginald Oliver. Honorary: Employees of Henderson & Sons Funeral Home.
