Greece: August 18, 2013 at age 98. Predeceased by his wife, Antoinette T. "Ann" Spiotti. Louis is survived by his children, Mary Louise Spiotti-Frank, Louis W. (Lynn) Spiotti; grandchildren, Christopher (Erica) Frank, Lisa (John) Carron, Kristen (Michael) Tompkins; great-grandchildren, Juliana Frank, Ian Frank, Dylan Tompkins, Drew Tompkins, Alexandra Carron; several nieces & nephews. Visitation for Louis will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 & Long Pond Rd). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin Street, Rochester. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14620 in memory of Antoinette T. Spiotti.

Louis was born to Vito & Maria on February 17, 1915 and was the "baby" of the family, one of 8 children and was raised on Lime Street. He taught his grade school teacher to dance "the Charleston" and often performed music and danced at parties for money. As a young man, he even won dance contests.

In his youth, he enjoyed music, sports such as soccer, baseball, track, swimming, and boxing. He played saxophone, clarinet, harmonica, ukelele, and played in a dance band. He earned his high school diploma at Madison High and went on to get his Bachelors, Masters and a variety of other certifications at Ithaca College.

Louis was in the US Navy, serving in World War II as a Specialist First Class at Sampson Naval base. He trained troops and sailors.

He was married for 60 years to his wife, Ann, who he met in junior high school. They had two children and a pet dog named Lady.

Some of Louis's favorite events included traveling to Italy, taking a coast to coast drive to California, visiting Acapulco and the Dominican Republic.

He loved and was proficient in all sports and was a very successful amateur boxer. He had 66 fights with 60 victories and 20 knockouts! He received an invitation to fight a preliminary bout to a Joe Louis title fight in Madison Square Garden. He declined because he wanted to pursue his education.

Louis loved the Yankees, dance band music, Sanford & Son, Ed Sullivan Show, and often told you to "be careful driving, the roads are a glare of ice".

Louis had a good life because he made it that way. He loved people, was intensely loyal to his family, friends, and institutions such as Ithaca College. He was very generous and often gave of himself and his resources. Louis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
