Obituary for Betty L. Kiefer
Betty L. Kiefer, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6 at home.
Betty was born Jan. 27, 1935 in Elkhart to Eugene and Edna (Leak) Haines. She married Robert Kiefer on April 26, 1952. He survives along with children Deborah (Mike) Martin, Pamela (Jeff) Kendell, Stephen Kiefer, Theresa Kiefer, James Kiefer and Kevin Kiefer; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Irene Mosher and Evelyn Phillips. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kiefer, Jr.; and three brothers, George, Ed and John Haines.
Betty was a homemaker and secretary at Kiefer Manufacturing Inc. She was a champion golfer and watercolor artist. She enjoyed sewing and designing purses. Betty was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thurs., Aug. 8 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Fri., Aug. 9 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery.
