Mrs. Doris Jean Dean, 78, of Greenwood, formerly of Interstate passed away Monday, August, 5, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood with the Celebration of Life Services immediately following beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. John Shackford officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m in Delta Heights Memorial Garden.

Mrs. Dean Was born August 22, 1934 to Joseph H. Garrett and Lovie B. Welch. She Married Derl Kenneth Dean. She worked as a clerk and was the homemaker of the family. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. She also loved to shop. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lovie Garrett; husband, Derl Dean; son, James Hewitt Dean; brothers, Joe Garrett, Terry Garrett, and Jerry Garrett; grandchildren, Tyler Dean McCrory, and Justin Cory Ballard.

Mrs. Dean is survived by her children, Tammie Dean McCrory (Tommy) of Greenwood, and Kenneth Derl Dean (Elisa) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Joshua Dean of Cleveland, Daniel Dean of Cleveland, and Adam Dean of Cleveland; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann Thompson of Columbus, Charlott Pitman of Vicksburg, Joy Cole of Boyle, Sandra Weeks of Boyle, Tommy Garrett of Columbus, and James Garrett of Eupora; caregivers, Jessie Hawkins and Tori Stanley.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Dean, Steve McCrimmon, Bill Gardner, Jimmy Weeks, Joey Weeks, and Mark Weeks.

Memorials may be made to the Building fund of Immanuel Baptist Church.
