Obituary for Bonnie "BJ" Joldersma (Mannes)

Bonnie "BJ" Joldersma (Mannes)
Bonnie Joldersma, “BJ”, age 72, of Holland, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Bonnie was born to Carl and Alieta Mannes on October 28, 1940. She succumbed to aggressive cancer and blood clots which took her life much sooner than anticipated. Our dear mom will be greatly missed and remembered most for her love for the Lord, her family and just plain having fun! She enjoyed playing games of any kind and spending time with family and friends, as well as watching Tigers baseball. Bonnie was also instrumental in starting the first women’s softball league in Holland and spent many years playing volleyball and bowling. She was active with playing sports with her sons as they grew and loved to attend their sporting events as adults. She attended Central Wesleyan Church, and worked for K-Mart and Fris Office Outfitters for many years.

Preceded in death by her mother and father, Bonnie leaves behind three sons and daughter-in-laws: Scott and Vicky Joldersma, Terry and Nancy Joldersma, Jeff and Deb Joldersma as well as grandchildren: Jeremy and Lee Joldersma; Brandon and Lauren Joldersma, Tyler & Hannah Joldersma, Ashley Joldersma; John Paul Joldersma, Michelle & Jose Mireles, Michael Van Hill and great grandchildren Silas Joldersma and Gabriella and Joseph Mireles. Brothers Bruce (Sue) Mannes, Mark Mannes and sisters Cherry (Dick) Sewers, Nancy (Tim) VanNest. Many nieces and nephews as well as several good friends.

A service to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be at 11 am on Monday, July 15, 2013 in the chapel of Central Wesleyan Church, 446 W. 40th St., Holland.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Boys and Girls Club of Holland or Kids Hope of Holland.
