Obituary for Carole Hagenow

Carole J. Hagenow, of East Hartford, returned home to the arms of our Lord on Saturday, (June 15, 2013) at her home. Born in Chicago, she had been a resident of East Hartford for many years. Carole worked for the Metropolitan District Commission for 20 years before retiring in 2006. Throughout her life, Carole enjoyed knitting and crocheting Afghans, Christmas stockings, clowns, and other items for family and friends. She also liked gardening and bowling and actively supporting local food pantries. Most of all, Carole was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother to her children and granddaughter. She was predeceased by her mother, Geraldine Belva Hutson, and her son, Kenneth E. Kearby. Carole leaves behind her beloved sister, Janet Sue Hutson of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Pamela S. Piascik of Lynn, MA; a son, Richard J. Hagenow, Jr., and a granddaughter Brianna K. Hagenow. Carole also leaves her "sisters in friendship" Deborah Cormier of Glastonbury, Marianne Riccio of Wethersfield, Barbara Meyers and her husband, Pastor Ray, of Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 20 at 11 am at D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section CC), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning from 10 -11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carole's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 0606.
