Delsie E.  Maben (Snyder)
LEWISTOWN - Delsie E. Maben, 91, of the Golden LivingCenter - William Penn, went to be with the Lord at 2 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2013, at the center.

She was born March 26, 1922, to the late George and Margaret (Sheriff) Snyder. She was born and raised in Pheasant Valley below Vira Road, in Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert R. Maben Sr., on Jan. 14, 1996; her son, Richard "Ricky" Maben, in September 1952; Margaret "Sue" Black, in January 1985; Albert "Sonny" Maben, in September 2002; six grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.

Delsie is survived by: her children, Mary Trutt, of Lewistown, Brenda Swartz and husband, John, of Port Royal, Elaine Maben, of Lewistown, Robin Snyder, of Harrisburg, and Mike Maben, of Lewistown; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters, Faye Walls, of Lewistown, Betty Ross, of Lewistown, and Esther Maines, of Shawville.

Earlier in life, Delsie worked at the American Viscose Corporation, F.W. Black Community Hospital as a nurse's aide, Diana Dress Shop as assistant manager and in the printing department of the Lewistown Sentinel when it was located on Dorcas Street. She was last employed at the William Penn Nursing Home as a nurse's aide until her retirement in 1987.

Delsie was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church and a member of the Berean Sunday school class. Many years ago, she sang in the choir and taught children's Sunday school class for 25 years.

She served on the Deaconess Board and also helped with Bible school. She enjoyed going on trips with the church, going to the Evangelders and helping with the clothing closet.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Revs. Kenneth Litwiller and Dave Purdy officiating.

Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Delsie had requested that memorial contributions be made to the Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or Aseracare Hospice, 1015 Logan Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
