Obituary for James Alexander "Jim" Campbell

James A. “Jim” Campbell, 72, of Johnson City, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville. He was a native of Carter County, son of the late Leonard and Thelma Bateman Campbell. Jim was administrator for the Moose Lodge of Johnson City for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and VFW. Jim was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents a daughter, Lana Gail, preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife, Ellie Parker Campbell of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Madra and Duane Stout of Johnson City; a grandson, Devin Stout of Johnson City and two great grandchildren, Carter and Ashlynn of Nashville.

A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 8:00 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris – Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Estel Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until time of service at 8:00 pm. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. A committal service will be conducted in the Happy Valley Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 am. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the Morris – Baker Funeral Home to leave in procession by 10:30 am. Memorials may be made to: the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 1 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015 or the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th St. NW, Washington, DC 20006.
