Margarita M.  Osborne (Macfarland)
Margarita M. Osborne, 91, passed away on March 4, 2013 at Fair Haven Senior Living Facility in Birmingham, AL. She was born on June 17, 1921 in San Diego, CA to George and Iva Mae Macfarland. Margarita grew up in San Diego, CA. She graduated from high school in San Diego, CA in 1939. After high school, she completed her training as an Executive Assistant. She worked for Pasadena Community Church, in St. Petersburg, FL, for 25 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. Margarita married Charles Norman Osborne in 1944 in Millbrook, AL. They were happily married for 54 years. Margarita was a member of the Eastern Star and Mountain Top Community Church. She enjoyed needle work, reading and her beloved dogs, Fannie, Lizzie, and Mollie. Margarita is survived by her daughter, Janice Osborne Ridling and son-in-law, James Patrick Ridling, of Trussville, AL; her grandchildren, J. Bryan Miller of Dallas, TX, Missy M. Miller of Birmingham, AL and Trevor A. Ridling of Magnolia, AR and her great-granddaughter, Jenna M. Petersen of Birmingham, AL, as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Margarita was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Osborne. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her at Fair Haven Senior Living Facility and all those friends and family who, in these last years, let her know that she was cherished and loved. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at a visitation, to be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway in Birmingham, AL 35235, on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Her burial will be held at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or their favorite charity. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
