Scott J. Petersen, Sr., 57 died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Robert J. Petersen and husband of Laura Cox of Averill Park.
Raised and educated in Troy, he was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Scott loved the outdoors, especially sailing and camping. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid Yankees fan. He was a father who treasured his family and a friend who will be missed.
Survivors in addition to his wife Laura, include four children
Scott J. Petersen, II of Averill Park, Sherwood K. Palitsch of Wynantskill, Laurie L. O'Connell of Troy, Nicole Coonardt of Lansingburgh, 13 grandchildren, two brothers Robert and Kris Petersen, two sisters Cheryl Carhart Asprion, Valari Dudia and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at Gardner Earl Crematorium.
Graveside service will be take place at a later date in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
