Obituary for Marie F. Jezierski (Falke)

Marie F. Jezierski, 92, a longtime resident of Glenville, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2013 at Ellis Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, on October 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Falke. She attended Brooklyn College and met and married a man who lived in her neighborhood, Walter F. Jezierski. They wed on November 18, 1942, just before Walter went off to service in WWII where he served as Lieutenant Commander. Walter and Marie moved to Glenville in 1955. Marie soon received her masters degree from SUNY at Albany. She enjoyed a career as an educator for the Shenendehowa School District for 20 years, retiring in the 1980's. Marie and Walter both enjoyed gardening and especially attending to their over 60 rose bushes in their backyard. She enjoyed reading and being outdoors. Marie was a member of the Capital District Garden Club and several affiliate organizations. She was an avid gardener.

Walter passed away on July 30, 2009. She is survived by her son, Paul W. Jezierski of Charlton, and her daughter, Carol Ann Schuyler of St. George, Utah, her special niece, Barbara Walton and several close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville, with Rev. Jerry Gingras officiating.
Calling hours will be at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Monday evening from 6 - 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in memory of Marie F. Jezierski.
