Obituary for Paul Lawrence Robinson

Paul Lawrence Robinson
On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, Paul Lawrence Robinson passed away at Mason General Hospital. He was 61 years old. Paul was born on April 4, 1951. He was adopted into the arms of Ralph and Dorothy (Sutcliffe) Robinson in Queens, New York. He attended Lakeland High School in Putnam Valley, NY then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. where he served in Viet Nam for four years. Upon his return, he married Diane G. Brenish in Lake Mohegan, NY in October of 1975. They resided in Arizona before settling in Shelton in 1979. Paul worked as a heavy equipment operator and operated dozers and loaders under the Operating Engineers Local 302. He worked for City Transfer for a number of years before retiring in 2004. Mr. Robinson was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed target practicing with his son Curtis. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and bicycling. He loved nature and bird watching and was an avid reader enjoying literature and crossword puzzles. Having grown up with three brothers, he was considered the “Daniel Boone, Leader of the Pack” sort of brother who once decided to parachute off the barn with a sheet which spurred his love for skydiving. His family shared that he was strong and determined with a sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Diane and son Curtis, both of Shelton; mother, Dorothy Robinson and mother in law Marian Brenish; brothers, Donald Robinson, WA, Jimmy Robinson, NC and David Harper, VA; sisters, Rebecca Costello, NY, Ruth (Allen) Benjaminson, VA, Cindy Robinson, NC and Jennifer (Paul) Williams, NC; sisters and brother in laws, Linda & Chuck McNully, TN, Judy & Charles Blood, NY and Eva & George Brenish, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, brother Billy 1988, and sister Pat. A private family service will be held at a later date. McComb Funeral Home was honored to serve this family.
