Obituary for Frank Palmer

Dr. Frank Palmer, 72, of Windsor, Missouri, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo.

He was born February 3, 1934, in Hampton, Iowa, the son of Joseph Palmer and Ruth (Fox) Palmer. On May 15, 1954, at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cosgrove, Iowa, he married Marilyn Marguerite O’Brien, who survives of the home.

Dr. Palmer graduated from the Palmer Chiropractic School in Davenport, Iowa and had practiced in Windsor for almost 40 years. He had also practiced in Morrilton, Arkansas, Jefferson City, Mo., and Kansas City, Mo. before coming to Windsor. He was a past member of the Windsor City Council; a member of the Missouri Academy of Chiropractors and a member of the National Harness Racing Association.

In addition to his wife, Dr. Palmer is survived by 3 sons, Mike Palmer, Kansas City, Mo.; Mark Palmer and his wife Theresa, Windsor, Mo.; Tom Palmer, of the home; a daughter, Teri Gunderson, Fayetteville, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Meris Gunderson, Fayetteville, Arkansas; 4 brothers, Jim Palmer, Montesano, Washington; Jess Palmer, Tacoma, Washington; Chuck Palmer, Powers, Florida; and Roger Palmer, Hampton, Iowa. Dr. Palmer was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Larae Palmer and Ruth Carmen; and a brother, Thomas Palmer.

Memorial services will be Saturday, July 8, 1:30 p.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, Mo., with Father Philip Eagan, officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the family and contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.
