Obituary for Thomas E. Morgan

Thomas E. Morgan, 71, of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, Illinois.

He was born August 25, 1935, in River Rouge, Michigan and grew up in Buckland, Ohio. He was a graduate of both Buckland High School and International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he met his wife, Patricia. He retired 12 years ago from the Architectural Hardware Industry after 40 years of service where he was honored as a Distinguished Architectural Hardware Consultant (DAHC). Following retirement he continued with consulting services in the same field. He belonged to ASAHC (American Society of Architectural Hardware Consultants), Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan, Illinois, and recently achieved the status of Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League.

Survivors include his Bride of 52 years, Patricia J. Morgan (nee Bush) whom he married on March 27, 1955 in Monticello, Indiana; children Stephanie Eagon, Cynthia (Joseph) Forgue, Christine (Ralph) Pierce and Rebecca (Mark) Stenhaug; grandchildren Kyle Eagon, Trevor Eagon, Paul-Thomas Morgan Eagon, Adam Stenhaug, Andrew Forgue, Greta Pierce and Anna Pierce; great-grandchildren Katie Clavette, Savannah Eagon and Madison Eagon; one brother James (Dorothy) Morgan; one brother-in-law Larry (Donna) Bush; and three nephews Kevin Morgan, Kent Morgan and Dean Bush.

He was preceded in death by his son Thomas E. Morgan Jr.; and his mother and father Burnetta Morgan Romsche and Homer Morgan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007, 10:30 a.m., at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, Illinois, with Pastor Stu Merkel officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Cancer Society have been suggested. Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, serving the family. (847) 746-1234.
