Obituary for Anne Hubbard (Bohannon)

Mrs. Anne Bohannon Hubbard, age 71 of Rome, GA, died Friday, December 14, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hubbard was born in Rome, GA, on August 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Frank D. Bohannon and Fay Stanfield Bohannon. She retired as a Claims Rep from the Social Security Administration in 2000. Mrs. Hubbard was a member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church and the Women of Grace Sunday school class. She graduated from Pepperell High School in 1959, played high school basketball and was chosen ‘Most Athletic’. Mrs. Hubbard was recognized as an outstanding player in a women’s church softball league in which she played until she was in her forties. She cherished attending, fellowshipping and volunteering in church and will be remembered by all for her sweetness and kindness. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles, doing needlepoint and cross stitch. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hubbard, whom she married on December 15, 1962 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; infant son, Tommy Hubbard; two brothers, Jimmy and Dan Bohannon; and a sister, Joyce Nix.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Ginger Hubbard of Rome, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Chuck Bowen of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Donovan and Kamryn Kinsella of Rome, GA, and Haley Bowen of San Antonio, TX; and two brothers, Bill Bohannon of Rome, GA and David Bohannon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Miller and Richards Funeral Home with Dr. Talmadge Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel.
