Obituary for William Thomas "Rocky" Rocovich

William Thomas “Rocky” Rocovich, 81, of Linnehurst St., Morgantown , passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Rocky was born in Uniontown, PA on May 15, 1930, a son of the late Paul Rocovich and the late Anna (Varnak) Rocovich.He graduated from St. Francis High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked for the former Sterling Faucet, for Paul Kapnicky and Guido’s before becoming a self-employed tile installer.He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church of Morgantown, and a lifetime member the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Marie “Missy” Rocovich four children, Paula Roy and husband Ray of Las Vegas, NV, William Eugene Rocovich and wife Kathryn of Euless, TX. Lisa Ann Knight and husband Kevin of Worthington, WV and Ronald Rocovich and wife Barbara of Morgantown his grandchildren, Caleb Knight and wife Rhonda of Charleston, WV, Margaret Shreve and husband Joshua of Clarksburg, WV, Sarah Knight of Worthington, WV, Lila Ann and Steven Rocovich of Morgantown, Amy and Rob Watson of Texas, and Alex Adams and his wife Marcy of Los Angeles, CA four great-grandchildren, Langston, Naysa and Gideon Watson all of Texas and Issac Shreve of Clarksburg, WV a sister Mary Catherine Sutherland and husband Frank and a brother, George Rocovich of Morgantown.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. , Morgantown from 5 – 8 PM Monday, December 5, 2011, where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 PM to conclude the evening visitation. On Tuesday, December 6th, Mr. Rocovich will be moved to St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 2115 Listravia Ave. , Morgantown where visitation will continue from 12:00 Noon until the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 1 PM with Father Michael Huszti as celebrant. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens , Westover. Donation in his memory can be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 2115 Listravia Ave. , Morgantown , WV 26505
