My first baby

Eleanor and I both were graduates of St. Mary's. Her sister Betty was my sister Peggie's best friend. I lived, as a newly married, in the the apartment below Betty's mother in law. To say that our lives were intertwined is an understatement... but very "Waterbury" As I was registered into St Mary's the night I was having my first child, Michael Kiernan, it was Eleanor who was on duty and in charge. I felt immediate relief and calm knowing I could not have been in better hands. It was like having family in attendance. When complications arose she calmly and competently managed them never letting on that we might have a BIG problem. I soon after, with her and Dr. E. Moore's help, delivered a healthy baby boy who has been forever a joy in my life. Thank you Eleanor.....his father, family and I are forever in your deblt! Kay Curley (formerly Kiernan)
