Virginia Belle Noechel

Age 89, died March 6, 2009 at her home with family and friends at her side. Born in Chicago, she resided in Manhattan and Joliet until 1999.

Survived by her loving daughter, Virginia (late Edward) Haddas; grandson, Brent (Lilian) Haddas of Weaverville, NC; brother-in-law, Vernon Noechel; nieces, Mary Clare Hopkins and Dorothy "Dee" Feickert; nephew, John Chladek; cousin, Rita Ward; and special friends, Rosemary Lawler, Sharon and Joe Novak, Debbie Koloski and Bill Walker.

Preceded in death by her husband, Leo Noechel; sister, Mary Frances Flick and brother, John (Dorothy) Chladek; grandson, Aaron Haddas.

She enjoyed retiring to the North Carolina mountains after a career as a legal secretary for Tracy, Johnson and Wilson Law Firm; office manager for Providence High School and secretary for the Federal Labor Department. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's League in Joliet, and member of the basilica of St. Lawrence in Asheville, NC.

Special thanks to all her friends at the Weaverville Senior Meal Center and staff at the Mountain Area Hospice/Crisis Care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either facility.

A Celebration of Virginia's life will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan, IL. Visitation TUESDAY MORNING 11:00 a.m. until time of services at:
