Obituary for Cynthia Renee "Cyndi" Jeffcoat

Cynthia Renee "Cyndi"  Jeffcoat
Cynthia Renee Jeffcoat, Georgetown, S.C. died November 30, 2012, after a yearlong battle with cancer. She died in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Cyndi loved teaching and was a long-time science teacher at Rosemary Middle School, Andrews, S.C. Born March 13, 1955 in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of Doris (Dot) Joyner Jeffcoat and the late Alex Hoyt Jeffcoat. She graduated from Columbia College and earned her Masters from Coastal Carolina University. She was National Board Certified and recognized as Teacher of the Year by her school.
Active in her church, Cyndi was a Sunday School teacher, youth worker, choir member, handbell ringer and volunteer at First Baptist Church, Georgetown.

Second only to her deep faith, Cyndi most cherished her family, including her mother of Georgetown, and brothers and beloved sisters-in-law, Robert(Bob) and Elaine Jeffcoat, Durham, N.C.; Mark and Barbara Jeffcoat, Lexington, SC; Jon and Marilyn Jeffcoat, Orlando, Fl.; and David and Kathy Jeffcoat, Seneca, SC. Also, nieces, Karen Jeffcoat Hudson (Chad); Lisa Jeffcoat; nephews James Jeffcoat (Kristi), Stephen Jeffcoat, Timothy Jeffcoat and Jonathan Jeffcoat; four great nephews, Jesse, Colin and Zeke Hudson; and Alex Jeffcoat; and cherished friend Wayne Shoemake, Georgetown, S.C.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 3, First Baptist Church, Georgetown. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, 2:30 – 4:30 at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia, 3:30 p.m.

The family will receive Columbia area friends after the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Baptist Church, 219 Cleland St., Georgetown, SC, 29440; or Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St., Georgetown, S.C. 29440. The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Sarah Adams and Tidelands Community Hospice.
