Obituary for Scott John Hatje

Scott John Hatje, 23, of Wethersfield, died Monday, November 5th at Hartford Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Hartford, he was a lifelong resident of the area. Scott was currently employed working alongside his father in the construction industry. He was very ambitious and had a keen interest in auto mechanics as well as working with his hands. He was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Class of 2007, where he excelled in both basketball and baseball. A very kind and loving person, he is survived by his beloved parents; his father, Paul M. Hatje of Middletown; his mother Anita and her husband Gary A. Duran of East Hartford; his dear brother, Paul M. Hatje, Jr. of Rocky Hill; his grandmother, Alice Scotello of Wethersfield; his grandfather, John Scotello in Florida and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anne and Arthur Hatje and an uncle, Stephen Hatje.
The funeral is Monday, November 12th, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. The family kindly requests that everyone meet directly at the church. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
