Obituary for Shelby Dawson Harmon

Our beautiful Shelby Dawson Harmon lived life big, loud, and hopeful. Jesus
blessed her with her beautiful wings on Saturday, October 20, 2012.

A celebration of this new precious angel and her amazing love a visitation will
be held at 6:00 p.m. then a 7:00 p.m. service Wednesday, October 24, 2012. This
celebration of a young life will be held at the place Shelby grew up and grew
with the Lord, Calvary Baptist Chapel. Brother Joe Young, whom watched Shelby
grow into a beautiful girl from a chubby baby, will be officiating.

Shelby graced us with her glowing presence on June 4, 1992. James Clay Harmon,
Jr. and Angela Lynette Harmon were not prepared for the love they felt when they
first laid eyes on their sweet baby girl. They were more than blown away by the
love that exploded from her tiny heart.

Shelby loved school. She touched hearts, broke hearts, opened her heart, and
learned more about life than the average normal girl. She graduated with memories to hold, friends to hug, and a 4.0 to be proud of herself.

Shelby touched so many lives. She had so many friends that she carried with her
through college. All of those memories lifted her through her college moments
at Mississippi Delta Community College. She not only earned her Associate
Degree but continued for more. Shelby lived her life always reaching for more.

She left so many loved ones behind. She is honored here on earth by her
parents, James Clay Harmon, Jr. and Angela Lynette Harmon and a little brother,
James “Trey” Harmon. She also left two sets of grandparents that cherished her:
Charles and Brenda West and James “Jim” and Frances Harmon. Her aunts and uncles
that will miss her deeply: Kelly and Andy Kirkland, Joe Dank Walker and April
Walker, Kevin and Lisa Hill, James and Wendy Sullivan. She filled the lives of all of >her cousins: Bear Walker, Browning Earp, Maci Marli, Jr., and tiny Aubrie
Sullivan, Daniel and Sissy Vanlandingham, Anna and Kaylee Kirkland, and Robbie
and Ginger Hill, along with so many that she loved as family.

Shelby was born into a family that lived for family. We were more than family,
we are friends. We carry, we support, we unconditionally love. We never stand
alone. Every moment apart we carried our love. Now with wings, you will fly
high with our hearts as we continue holding on to yours. Michelle Denise
Sullivan will be there with open arms welcoming you.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Robert Neal Food pantry in care
of Calvary Baptist Chapel P.O. Box 66 Rome, MS 38768.
