Edward Oberkonz, age 90 of Columbus, died April 13, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. U.S. Army Veteran, WWII. Member of American Legion Post No. 239 (Worthington). Retired from Columbus Public Schools after 30 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Otto and Frieda Oberkonz; brothers, Otto and George; sisters, Frieda Oberkonz, Mildred Henry and Lucille Youngman. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Pat Oberkonz of Columbus; sister, Anna Bircher; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., where service will be held Thursday 1:30 p.m., Pastor Tim Crisafulli officiating. Interment with military honors at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway.
