Obituary for Milton Jerome Scott

“His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
-Matthew 25:21
Milton Jerome Scott was born on September 7, 1960 to the union of Oscar and Naomi Scott. Milton was the seventh of nine children. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Morris Jackson, Jr. at the New Providence Baptist Church.
Milton received his public education at Zachary High School and graduated in 1978. Immediately after graduation, he embarked on his military career, beginning with the United States Marine Corps. Upon finishing his service with the Marines, he served his country in the United States Navy. Subsequently, he continued his service to his nation in the United States Army National Guard from which he recently retired.
Milton’s other passion in life was driving his 18 wheeler cross-country and managing his trucking company. On August 27, 2012, Milton retired from this walk of life to a new life.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 10 years, Darleen K. Scott; eight children: Tameka (Julmetriuf) Linsey, Milton Marone, Britteny Bender, Brandie (Eric) Bell, Kayla Johnston, Milton Scott III, Shanay Harden, and Emily Edmundson; seven grandchildren; his mother, Naomi (Charlie) Allen; ten siblings: Kerney (William) Singleton, Oscar Scott, Michael (Patricia) Scott, Barbara Payne, Norma Scott, Derrick Scott, Rinda (Frankie) Williams, Annice (Alfred) Hearns, Stephanie (Robert) Howze, and Railonnie Scott; and a host of relatives, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Scott and two siblings: Jennifer Scott and Carl Russell Scott.
