Ashley (17) and Colton (16) Fischer were granted the opportunity on June 24, 2012 to share their love far beyond the limits of this world. Ashley and Colton relished in the joy of being surrounded by family and friends throughout their short, yet very memorable lives.
Ashley and Colton’s lives would seem too short to many, but for those who knew their hearts, they understood the quality of their existence far exceeded their quantity of time. Their smiles could light up a room while simultaneously melting your heart.
Ashley’s passion for helping those most in need defined her caring nature. Her special needs cat Lilly taught her much. Developing the club Voices Carry with Larimer County Child Advocacy Center brought child abuse to center stage for RMHS students.
Colton’s gentle giant status made him the quintessential offensive lineman for RMHS, he had just achieved second string varsity status as an incoming Junior. His love of the game gave him the nickname “Ed’s Wingman”. You could always count on Colton to tell you what he thought.
With Ashley and Colton’s passing we remind others that their life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss them everyday, we know their spirit will remain forever in our hearts. Their love for each other never included the typical sibling rivalry, they were each other’s best friends and will forever remain connected.
Ashley and Colton leave behind many wonderful friends, whom loved them very much.
Ashley and Colton are survived by their loving parents, Deanna and James Brookhouser of Ft. Collins, CO and Tim and Roxy Fischer of Tioga ND, Sister Natasha Rehak and Brother Zachariah Rehak, step-brothers Jeffery McCoy and Joshua Brookhouser; Step-grandparents Larry and Pat Brookhouser and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
They were preceded in death by their maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services were held on July 2, 2012 at River of Life Church, Wellington CO.
