Obituary for Olive June "Gubbie" Dunlap (Hineman)

June ‘Gubbie’ Hall Dunlap, 91 of Monaca, formerly of Raccoon Twp. passed away Wednesday morning, June 13, 2012 at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls
Born June 23, 1920 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late David Martin and Alice May (Hall) Hineman.
June had previously been employed at Westinghouse, Vanport from where she retired in 1980 and was a former member of Charlie’s Angels (dance club) in New Brighton, the Aliquippa Hospital Auxiliary and Hookstown American Legion Auxiliary
June was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Marlin Hall in 1964 and her second husband, Frederick A. Dunlap in 2002, and a son-in-law, Gary Slater in 2008. One of twelve children, June referred to herself as the ‘runt of the litter’. She was preceded by six brothers, Phillip Hineman, Barney Hineman, Clarence ‘Doc’ Hineman, David Hineman, Jr., R. Paul Hineman and Lawrence ‘Cud’ ‘Wimp’ Hineman; four sisters, Anna Sweringen, Mary Sweringen, Alice May Wilson and Evelyn Thomas and a sister-in-law, Betty Hineman.
She leaves two children, Susan Slater of Monaca and a son, Ken Hall and his wife, Dee of Greer, S.C.; five grandchildren, Stephen (Kim) Hall, Vicki Lynn (Stacy) Peek, Gary John (Dena) Slater, Scott (Marianne) Slater and Holly Lynn Slater; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Peek, William Peek, Taylor Slater, Paige Slater, Hailey Fulmer, Steven Fulmer, Sydney Slater and Riley Slater. She also leaves a brother, William Hineman.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 16th, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon in Simpson Funeral & Cremation Service, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca.
In accordance with June’s love of children, the family requests charitable contributions be made to St Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105. Tel. # 1 800 805 5856.
The family wishes to thank the following: the Providence Care staff, a special aide, Inger, and Grane Hospice, Pittsburgh for the compassionate care June received. A note of appreciation is also extended to Kelly Cain at Franciscan Manor for attending to June during her prior five-year stay.
