. Dr. Jerald R. O'Brien, beloved brother of Dr. Jim O'Brien of E. Windsor, Conn. and son of the late Joseph and Joan O'Brien of Providence Street, Albany, N.Y., passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 in a tragic accident in Lake George. He is survived by his nieces, Nathana, Rebecca, Shoshana and Nechama; nephews, Zizi, Eli, Meir and Chananya; and dear friends, Michele and Blake, among many, many others. Jerry was a physician of legendary skill, practicing for the last 20 years at Ellis Hospital Emergency Room and ICU, and elsewhere. He was an active supporter of the Albany Jewish community and the true core and heart of his family, caring for his parents and participating with his sister-in-law Vicky in the raising of his late brother Jon's kids as if they had been his own

. A brief graveside funeral will be held today, Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Beth Abraham-Jacob Cemetery on Fuller Road, between Western and Washington Avenues.
