Ronal Dean Schmoldt, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his home in Muscatine. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Pastor Gary MacManus will officiate. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Dean. Ronal Dean Schmoldt was born on August 17, 1936, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of John O. and Martha S. (Mason) Schmoldt. Dean was a 1955 graduate of Muscatine High School. On August 26, 1955, Dean was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Jens at the New Era Church in Muscatine. Dean worked for Kent Feeds for 43 years as a printing supervisor. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed coaching baseball when his children were younger, attending his children’s sporting events and collecting old cars, including his 1976 Cadillac El Dorado convertible, but most of all, Dean dearly loved to spend time with his family. .

Dean will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy of Muscatine; his children, Michael J. Schmoldt and his wife, Laurie of Richland, Washington, Karen S. Gardner and her husband, Chuck of Fruitland and Allan D. Schmoldt and his wife, Teri of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Weldon.
