Emil Henry Schwartz, Jr., 77, of Muscatine, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the All American Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Emil will be Monday, May 21st from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Emil Henry Schwartz, Jr. was born on December 5, 1934 in Muscatine, the son of Emil and Velma (Laschanzky) Schwartz. On February 8, 1964 Emil was united in marriage to Joyce Pace in Aledo, Illinois. Emil worked 42 years as a mechanic at Lieu’s Garage and Merchant’s Repair. He enjoyed camping, going to listen to the band at The Barn in New Boston and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

Emil will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce of Muscatine; his children, Diane Rivera and her husband Joe of Muscatine and Scott Schwartz of Snellsville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Brandon, Veronica and Cheyenne Rivera; great granddaughter, Katie; his brother, Harlan “Hy” Schwartz of Mayer, Arizona; cousin, Moni Denkman and husband Earl of Muscatine; and his buddy “Blackie”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Deanna Lynn Schwartz, one brother and one sister.
