Robert Bernhard Anderson
Robert B. Anderson (age 94) entered into rest on May 11, 2012 in Bellingham, WA surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Nome, Alaska on September 23, 1917 to Axel Theodore and Jenny Marie (Johannsson) Andersson. Robert attended Lincoln High School in Seattle, and graduated in 1936. Continuing his education, Robert attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1941. He enlisted in United States Army and served as a Staff Sergeant/Bandmaster from 1941 until his discharge in 1946.
During Roberts working career, he held many positions as an educator. Most notably as a Professional Violinist, Conductor of the Bremerton Symphony and Conductor/Founder of the Cascade Symphony. His career span 45 years with his retirement in 1992. Robert possessed may fine attributes and will be remembered as being charming, always a gentleman; dedicated to his musicianship, community minded and his fond infatuation and love of English cars and Elkhounds.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia (Olmstead) Anderson in 2002. He is survived by his son, Robert Donn (Evangeline) Anderson of Edgewood, WA; daughter, Carol Elaine Anderson of Bellingham; brother, Harold W. (Helen) Anderson of Camano Island, WA and many relatives in Sweden.
