Obituary for Bobby Wayne Greene

Bobby Wayne Greene, 54, Upper Sand Valley Road, went to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Bobby was a son of the late Geter and Pauline Gaussoin Greene. Bobby was an employee of United Oil Company until 2002, and most recently at Quikhelp.com. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, going camping at the beach, and was an avid Nascar and Harley Davidson fan. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice, the nurses of the 5200 and 7400 wings of the Johnson City Medical Center and the staff of the Outpatient Cancer Treatment Center. Survivors include his loving wife, of 36 years, Beverly Joan Crawford, of the home; one daughter, Abby Greene, Jonesborough; one granddaughter, Carissa “Starr” Laws, Jonesborough; one grandson, Sam “Bubba” Greene, Jonesborough; six sisters, Patsy Stansberry, Mary Lou Dugger, Brenda Hyatt and Penni Begley all of Johnson City, Janis Torbett, Jonesborough and Dorothy Waller, Corona, CA; Jonathan Laws and Terry Whitaker, who were like sons to Bobby and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Greene will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, August 10, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Joe Beaver of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Greg Bowman, Dennis Cross, Ron Torbett, Gary Allen, Allen Torbett, Dustin Miller, Wayne Whitaker and Russell Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be James Causey, Robert Simpson, Tom Webb, David Depew, Adrian Platt and his friends at Pardners Restaurant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
