Cary Romsdahl, age 50, of St. James died on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Oklahoma as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in St. James with Rev. Ken Bowman officiating.

Burial will be at Kansas Lake Lutheran Cemetery, St. James.

Visitation will be Monday from 4pm until 8pm at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and one hour before services at the church Tuesday.


Cary Lynne (Rennick) Romsdahl was born on July 22, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Wallace and Marlys (Allenspach) Rennick. She attended grade school in Blaine, Minnesota, in 1970, moved to St. James, Minnesota and attended grade school in Ormsby. She graduated from St. James High School in 1979.

On March 22, 1986, she was united in marriage to Stephen Dale Romsdahl at Kansas Lake Lutheran Church in Butterfield, Minnesota. She was Superwoman, a force to be reckoned with! A loving wife, mother, and grandma. She had a passion and zest for life, always there to listen and willing to lend a helping hand. She was the BEST cook, loved the outdoors, camping, boating, snowmobiling and spending time with Steve, the kids, grandkids, friends and had a never-ending list of hobbies. Cary was second in command on the family farm. She could do anything and loved helping Steve and Greg in the field.

Another love in Cary’s life were her bulldogs. She adored each and every one of her dogs, loved traveling to dog shows all around the United States, met thousands of people and acquired many special friends along the way. She recently won the National Championship for Best of Show and many other awards for all of her hard work and dedication.

She is irreplaceable and her memory and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of many.

Cary is survived by her loving husband, Steve of 26 years; five children, Michelle Romsdahl, Anna (Nick) Nelson, Stephen Jacob (Felicia) Romsdahl, Megan (fiancé Dan Pauly) Romsdahl and Zachary Romsdahl; four grandsons, Jack Winkelman, Hayden Nelson, Knoxx and Jayger Romsdahl; parents, Wallace and Marlys Rennick; sister, Kelly (Rob) Westphal; mother and father in-law, Kenneth and Judy Romsdahl; brothers and sisters in-law; Jeffrey (Nancy) Romsdahl, Gregory (Karen) Romsdahl, Bradley (Deb) Romsdahl, Rebecca (Mick Beltz) Romsdahl and Sarah (Karl) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Cary was preceded in death by her brother, Chris Rennick; her grandparents and other relatives.
