Condolences

Condolence From: Neil Forsberg
Condolence: I learned only recently of my friend's death. It comes as a shock. Jim was hsenior PhD student in my lab at UC Davis when I began 32 years ago. He was a kind and reliable mentor to me. I have many stories I would like to share with Aaron if I could find a contact for him. If someone who has contact with Aaron knows him, please ask him to contact me or provide me with Aaron's address.

I am grieved to hear of Jim's death. Please accept my sincere condolences. On behalf of the Japanese Society of Rumen Metabolism and Physiology, please accept our deepest sympathy. Jim will be greatly missed in our society.

Jim was an invited speaker of Hakone rumen meeting that was held as a satellite symposium of ISRP at Sendai, Japan in 1989. We will miss his excellence in basic and applied fields of Rumen studies.

May this bring some comfort to you all during this time.
Our thoughts are with you.

Bright mind, great heart and a drive to discover new phenomena and create a better understanding of it all. We have missed him here at Cornell and appreciate all he has done for us as individuals, colleagues, and friends. Jim has left a lasting mark in rumen microbiology, in teaching and safely feeding the world. Jim Russell taught us to pursue the truth however difficult that might become.
