Bright mind, great heart and a drive to discover new phenomena and create a better understanding of it all. We have missed him here at Cornell and appreciate all he has done for us as individuals, colleagues, and friends. Jim has left a lasting mark in rumen microbiology, in teaching and safely feeding the world. Jim Russell taught us to pursue the truth however difficult that might become.
