Jay Steven Schaar, 50, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, December 21, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover.Born June 6, 1957 in Dover, Jay was the son of the late Sidney W. Schaar and Catherine (Hansen) Schaar Harris.Jay graduated from Starlight School in 1978, and was employed by Starlight Enterprises his entire life.He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and Mickey Mouse. Jay also loved collecting matchbox cars throughout his lifetime. His infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by his family which includes his three brothers, Sidney W. (Juda) Schaar of Orrville; Lynn Schaar of Dover; and Keith (Nancy) Schaar of Sherrodsville; 7 nieces and nephews and his loving family at East Circle East High group home. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry D. of Columbus and Richard L. of Warsaw.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Jay's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. with Rev. Chuck McNatt officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
