Funeral service for Mr. Earl Justus Richhart, 76, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 10:00 am at Laird Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Hodge officiating. A Masonic graveside will follow at Simpson Campground Cemetery.

Mr. Richhart was born on October 29, 1934, in Morgantown, Indiana to the late Isaac Justus and Mary Agnes Dine Richhart. He passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Earl served his country in the US Airforce, retiring after 20 years and seven days of service. He went on to work for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and retired after 13 years. Earl was also a successful self employed business owner.

Earl sharpened clipper blades for local veterinarian's and dog grooming businesses. He liked mechanic work and had a knack for fixing cars, lawn mowers and other small engines. Earl had a big heart that he shared with many in Nacogdoches and surrounding areas. After church on Sunday's he would go to the local nursing homes to give communion to the shut-ins. He was a Mason, a Sharon Shriner and was very supportive of all the Shriners Children Hospitals. He loved being a shriner and supported all of the local activities sponsored by the Shriners such as bingo, the circus and any other fundraiser that would help the hospitals.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Gayle Patterson Richhart of Nacogdoches; four sons, Ronnie Greene of Jasper, Texas, Earl Justus Richhart, Jr. of Morgantown, Indiana, Ricky J. Richhart of Lufkin, Texas and James W. Richhart of Altus, Oklahoma; three step-sons, Russell Leggett, Jr. and wife, Debra of Nacogdoches, Dennis Leggett of Midland, Texas and Mark Leggett of Leander, Texas; one daughter, Brenda Gail Gibson of Altus, Oklahoma; two brothers, Marion Richhart of Morgantown, Indiana and Paul Richhart of Trafalgar, Indiana; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be from the Nacogdoches Shrine Club.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a Shriners Children Hospital of your choice.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 5-7 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
