Emily Sue Long Steppe, 58, 2319 East Brooke Lane, Johnson City died
Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at her residence following a lengthy bout with Alzheimer’s.

Mrs. Steppe was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Ferry H. and Ruth Cole Chatman.
She retired from the Johnson City Medical Center in 1997 as a PBX Telephone Operator.

Mrs. Steppe was of the Christian Faith. She was a member of D.O.A. Carnation Counsel and the V. F. W.

In addition she was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Joel Long in 1976. Her second husband, Worley Haynes Steppe preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Joe Chatman.

Survivors include; one step-daughter, Penny Elliott Livingston, of the home, and two grandsons, David Livingston and Ben Livingston, both of Johnson City.

The funeral service for Emily Sue Long Steppe will be conducted
8:00 PM Sunday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Larry " PT” Glover will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday from Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Livingston, Ben Livingston, Steven Case, Sr., Steven Case, Jr., Marvin Babb and Jimmy Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnson City Medical Center Hospice and Mary Haren and Family. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday and proceed to the Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday. Friends may call at the residence.
