Patricia "Pat Joan Edwards  Adams
Mrs. Patricia Joan Edwards Adams, age69, of Brooksburg, Indiana entered this life on August 22, 1940 in Plains, Montana. She was the daughter of the late Leland & Ruth Davies Edwards. She was in Montana until the age of 15 and then resided in Arkansas for several years moving to Rising Sun when she was a senior. She was a 1973 graduate in Osborne, Kansas High School. She was united in marriage on February 14, 1957 to Hubert A. Adams, Sr. This union was blessed with four sons and a daughter to bless their home. She received her licensed practical nursing degree in Beloit, Kansas in 1975, her associate degree at Marian College in Indianapolis in 1987 and her Bachelor of Science at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion in 2000. In her early life she had worked as a waitress, baby sitter, clerk in grocery stores, clothing sewing factor, and an assembler in a parts and painting factory. She enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for her father's taxi business and for two service stations. In 1975, she was blessed to be able to do the job she loved so much being a nurse. She began her career in nursing at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison working as a staff nurse for three west from 3-11 shift until 1977. She began a career as a staff nurse from 1977 - 1980 at the Clifty Falls Convalescent Center in Madison and was in charge of 60 residents on night shift. She worked at the Madison State Hospital from 1980-1981 as a staff nurse. But in September 1982, she went back to the King's Daughters' Hospital working as a LPN until July 1985 as a staff nurse and then for ten years as a nursing supervisor, retiring on January 11, 2006. She worked part time in 2009 for Swiss Villa Living Centre in Vevay until her death. Pat lost her loving husband, Hubert in a truck accident on July 23, 1980. Pat had found happiness again with her companion, Marvin Creech of Deputy and was a loving caregiver to him during his recent illness. Pat was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Madison. She also enjoyed participating in hospital bowling league for many years. She enjoyed crafts, needle point, photography, traveling, cruises and her family. Pat died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 1:04 p.m. at Norton Hospital in Louisville Kentucky.

Pat will be missed by her loving companion: Marvin C. Creech of Deputy, Indiana; her loving sons: Hubert "Allen" Adams, Jr. & his wife: Gloria of Bedford, Kentucky, Alfred "Al" G. Adams & his wife: Diane of Godfrey, Illinois, Bobby L. Adams & his fiancée': Donna L. Snowberger of Hanover, Indiana; her loving daughter: Wilma Jean Box & her husband: Arlie of Madison, Indiana; her loving sisters: Kay Henry & her husband: Jesse of Tampa , Florida, Linda Edwards & her husband: Ike of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Bonnie Edwards & her husband: John of Downs, Kansas, Rita Edwards of Cawker City, Kansas; her loving brothers: Sidney Edwards & his wife: Jolene of Brooksburg, Indiana, Ronnie Julifs of Scottsburg, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Tandy, Brandy, Kandice, Allen, Arliegh, Nicholas, Andrew, Ivy Nicole & Jara; her loving great grandchildren: Ashley, Cameron, Josh, Kelyn, Dylan, Zach, & Carol Ann; several nieces, nephews, & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leland & Ruth Davies Edwards; her husband: Hubert A. Adams, Sr. died: July 23, 1980; her son: Dwaine Eddie Adams died: Sept. 3, 2004; her sister: Geraldine "Jerry" Taylor.





FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. by Elder Lyle Stockdale and Pastor Ralph Yantz at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana.







VISITATION

Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
