Obituary for Mildred Lucille Lewis

Mrs. Mildred Lucille Lewis, age 84, of 2124 Wilson Avenue, Madison, Indiana, entered this life on April 22, 1921, in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of John Samuel & Kathryn Marie Fry Ford, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Charles William Lewis on April 23, 1939, in the Brooksburg Baptist Church and to this union arrived two sons & three daughters to bless their home. She was a farm wife most all of her life along side her beloved husband. She was a devoted wife, mother & mama, and enjoyed gardening and raising beautiful flowers. She resided in the Brooksburg Community most of her life, moving to Madison in May 1992. She enjoyed sitting in the swing with her beloved husband on their front porch on Wilson Avenue waving to all the traffic that went by. She was a faithful member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church in Brooksburg, Indiana. She had been in ill health the past two years with cancer. Mildred died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 10:55 am at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.


A LOVING FAMILY
Mrs. Lewis will be missed by her daughters: Ruth Ann Burton of Madison, Indiana; Judy Peters & her husband: Kerry of Madison, Indiana; Janet Kay Macrander & her husband: Gayle of Madison, Indiana; her son: Roger L. Lewis of Madison, Indiana; her sister: Marietta Cole of Clearwater, Florida; her grandchildren: Darrell, Dianna Lynn, Mandy Kay, Lisa Marie, Derrick, Rustin, Carroll Wayne & Vannetta Kay; her great grandchildren: Amanda Elizabeth, Britaney, Christine, Mark Anthony, Heather, Zachary, Kayla Michelle, Andrew Scott, Carol Ann, Zane Michael, Allison Kay, & Lane Christopher, several nieces, nephews & other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents: John Samuel & Kathryn Marie Fry Ford; her husband: Charles William Lewis died: October 25, 2003; her son: Robert Allen Lewis; her son in law: Darrell Burton; her brothers: John Samuel " Jack" & George Ford.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 am, by Rev. Josh Culbertson & Rev. Mike Lafountain at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Brooksburg Cemetery, Brooksburg, Indiana.


VISITATION
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 pm & Saturday from 9 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.


MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of King's Daughters' or Brooksburg Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
